Five Places to Eat – Austin City Limits Music Festival 2013

Our lovely city of Austin, Texas has seen a year full of beautiful weather. For ACL (Austin City Limits) Music Festival, the weather has been full of sunshine and cool breezes, perfect weather for playing outside and discovering that Austin-y feel good, dining experience. As a born and raised Austinite, my top five places to grab good eats, include culture & variety. Enjoy!

Hoover’s Cooking – Farm to Table, Natural Comfort Food. 2002 Manor Rd. 512-479-5006

The ‘Aus-Tex’ spicy bbq sauce, smoked wings on the appetizer selections, is so mouthwatering, I always get it as my entree.

Hefty, hunk of meatloaf with a side of mash and gravy – one of my hubby’s favorites.

Trudy’s Tex-Mex – Austin’s spin on everyone’s favorite Tex-Mex. 409 West 30th Street. 512-477-2935

My 2nd favorite dish – Shrimp Tacos. Ultimate Favorite, the ‘Pollo A La Plancha’!

Blue Basil Food Truck: Asian cuisine in a combination of rice, noodles, and street snacks. On the corner of 7th and Trinity every Thursday night to Saturday night 11pm – 3am. 512-964-5018

Bowl of authentic Spicy Pho after 2am? I’ll take it! Photo courtesy of Blue Basil’s owner.

Baton Creole Food Truck – Southern Louisiana cooking with Austin food trailer culture. 907 East 6th Street. 512-434-0671

There are two ways you can order your food: on a stick, or in a bowl. Easy! Authentic Crawfish Etoufee please =)

OR, Jambalaya on a STICK, with a Remoulade sauce! Ingenious, and not messy – take it to go while walking around the quirky East 6th Street!

My ultimate favorite choice….the Boudin Balls! If you’re eating the Boudin packaged in the store, than you haven’t tried REAL Louisiana Boudin…try it here, deep fried, topped with Remoulade sauce.

Hoboken Pie – Hoboken delivers hand tossed pizza (from scratch sauce, dough, & dessert, farm fresh veggies) in Austin day and night, 11am to 3am. 718 Red River Street. 512-477-4256

Hoboken Pie has a simple selection of pizzas to choose from, and my favorite part: thin crust pies allowing all of the bursts of flavor from the scratch made sauces, really show themselves out.

There goes my top five. The one thing these places can all offer you – culture & variety! I hope that you try out these hidden gems, during your time spent at the second half of ACL 2013!
